EcoTherm Eco-Torch is an insulation board which comprises fibre free rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation core faced on one side with glass tissue facing and bitumenised glass tissue with polypropylene fleece facing on the other side. The PIR fibre free insulation core is temperature tolerant and withstands the application of hot bitumen and asphalt to the surface at up to 230 ⁰C.

Eco-Torch provides a cost effective means of reducing CO2 emissions and for compliance with Building Regulations/Standards.

Durability depends on the method of application, the supporting structure and conditions of use.

Application:

100mm EcoTherm Eco-Torch Insulation Boards can be used for new-build and for upgrading the thermal performance of existing roofs. Eco-Torch insulation is for use with torch on and roll and pour felt systems, mastic asphalt and fully adhered single ply systems and can be installed over:

  • Metal decks
  • Concrete decks
  • Timber decks

Advantages of 100mm EcoTherm Eco-Torch Flat Roof Insulation Board:

  • The product is stable, rot proof and durable and will remain effective as an insulation system at least as long as that of the waterproof covering.
  • The fibre free insulation core and facings resist attack by mould and microbial growth, and do not provide any food value to vermin.
  • Compressive strength of the board typically exceeds 150 kPa at 10% compression when tested to BS EN 826: 1996 (Thermal insulating products for building applications. Determination of compression behaviour)
  • EcoTherm Eco-Torch resists attack from dilute alkalis and acids, mineral oil and petrol. The insulation is not resistant to ketonic solvents. Damaged boards should not be used
  • Low thermal conductivity (lambda/λ-value) 0.025 W/mK.
  • Thanks to water vapour resistance of 40MNs/g the EcoTherm Eco-Torch will provide high resistance to water vapour transmission. This minimises both surface and interstitial condensation.
